This was me on 6/11/06 on a hike with the Greeneville Hiking Club, which I was a member of when I first moved to Tennessee!  This was one of my FAVORITE hikes because it was SOOO challenging!  It was from Mt. Cammerer Trail to Davenport Gap in the Smokies!  That's the club leader, Ned, in the background!  Great hike - great memories!  Can't wait to hit the trails again in just a couple of months...

I tag...Ashlee and Jeff...since they are my only other friends who have blogs :)

A Day at the Park...

Hello Everyone!
Yesterday, 3/10, it was supposed to rain, however it did not, to mine and Connor's delight! Connor is teething and has been in QUITE a mood this past week, so I figured that getting outside and enjoying the warm weather (minus the sunshine yesterday) would be good for both of us! Here are some pictures from our day at the park!
Connor, again, loving the swings!

We decided to take a long walk around the lake!

This picture cracks me up!

He's like "Come on, Mom, I wanna swing some more!"

He's ready!

My happy boy!

Daddy surprised us and got to swing Connor!

Why do I always have a burp cloth on my shoulder?!

Daddy and Connor (He's blowing bubbles - that's his new obsession!)
Can't wait till those trees are green again!

Have a fantastic Friday!

Swings, Swings...Wonderful Things!

Hello Everyone!
Well, we've had sort of a difficult week! Poor Connor is not feeling too great with his new teeth. I think he's about to get at least one of his top teeth, and his bottoms are still coming in. He's been a trooper though! We've been thoroughly enjoying the spring like weather that we've been blessed with, and just like his mommy, Connor seems to feel better just being outside! As for sleeping in his own bed, well Connor is now a PRO! He's been in his own crib since last Wednesday night, 3/3. The last 2 nights he has slept through the night from 8 PM - 6:30 AM, without waking up ONCE! We are so proud of him! He also began eating fruits on Monday, 3/8, when he had bananas! Dr. Makres told me not to start fruits till 8 months, but I couldn't resist! Connor has mastered his veggies and I know I'd be tired of cycling through sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, green beans, and peas, EVERY DAY! So thus...BRING ON THE FRUITS! Here are some pictures from this past weekend!
On Saturday, 3/6, we headed over to Dave and Jen's house for a little Dexter marathon - to catch up on the latest season! Connor was such a good boy and after all the Dexter, Uncle David introduced Connor to the pet snake...unfortunately I forgot it's name :( Sorry Dave! Connor was excited about the sake, but Daddy was not so thrilled since he hates snakes! I think Connor's expression in this picture is hilarious...He's thinking..."Mommy, you KNOW how Daddy feels about this..."

Connor playing in his pack n play Saturday night! He now gets very excited and moves his hands all around, quickly, while he screams! I think he's going to talk with his hands!
On Sunday, 3/7, we headed over to Warrior's Path State Park to enjoy the 60 degree weather! Fortunately for us, Papaw, Memaw, Uncle Nick, and Aunt Rachel were heading home from Roanoke and decided to meet us at the park! This picture cracks me up because I think that Connor and his Papaw have the same expression on their faces!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Nick!

Connor and his Papaw!

Connor was in a VERY serious mood that day!

Checking out his Uncle Nick!

Loving on his Aunt Rachel!

Connor and his Memaw!

Daddy and Connor ready for a long walk!

See his 2 teeth?!

Me and my boy - see him talking with his hands?!

Eminem...is that you?

On Monday, 3/8, playing with his piano!

Monday afternoon, we took a walk down the street to enjoy the beautiful day! Connor's wearing his Salty Dog Saloon onesie that his Papaw got him in Hilton Head while I was pregnant with Connor!

On Tuesday, 3/9, Connor and I met Misty and Maelen at Warrior's Path State Park to enjoy yet another beautiful day! I decided to try the swings and see if Connor liked them! WOW - did he EVER! He was thrilled!

He wanted to sit all the way forward and just moved those hands in delight! He was so excited!

This picture cracks me up! Connor and Maelen, swinging together!

Have a fantastic week!

What a Week!

What a week we have had in the Ratliff household! Big changes! On Saturday, 2/27, Connor got his 2nd tooth! The middle lower left tooth came in! So from his surgery and 2 incoming teeth, you can imagine that our little Connor was thrown WAY off and miserable! Lucky for us, we have been blessed with a strong boy and he did not let the pain get to him too much! However, after 2 completely sleepless nights Monday and Tuesday, Jason and I decided it was time to move Connor from his cozy bassinet in our bedroom to his own big-boy crib, downstairs! As much as I was dreading going up and down those stairs in the middle of the night to feed him, it turned out to be the best decision we've made in a while! After 2 successful nights of sleeping in his own crib, Connor is doing fantastic and so are Mom and Dad! Did I mention we also got rid of the swaddle with the crib sleeping? What a big boy we have! Here are some pictures from last week!
Connor and Daddy on Sunday, 2/28...

On Wednesday, 3/3, when he turned 29 weeks old! He doesn't drink from this cup, but I put some water in it and he loves to use it to sooth his teeth!

Connor playing in his room on Thursday, 3/4...

His new piano from Jo Jo and Granddaddy Greg!

Looking at his family photo album!

This is Connor's new FAVORITE toy - his train from his Grandma and Grandpa! Look at that smile!

Look closely and you can see his new teeth!

Showin some cheese! He LOVES this train. When he's laying on his mat, he will roll himself over to it and try his BEST to move it!

Hangin with Dexter, his favorite stuffed animal. Every night now, when he goes to sleep in his crib, we find him turned over, hugging Dexter while he sleeps! Yes, Dexter is named after Jason and my favorite serial killer from Showtime's hit series!!!

How adorable is this picture?!

Later that morning, working, diligently, on a report for Amy on his new HP laptop!

Later in the day, after Connor completed his work, we headed to Target to pick up some coffee!

This is his..."Mom, I hope you realize the consequences of your actions..." Look :)

Later that night...Connor hangin with the ladies...this is Misty, Bailey, Connor, and Maelen at Atlanta Bread, listening to some live jazz...

Have a fantastic weekend!

Pre and Post Op...

Little Connor was such a trooper and did great during his surgery on 2/23! He is still in some pain and taking his medicine. We're hoping he'll be back to his old self this weekend! Here are some pictures from this last week, before and after his surgery! This is Connor on Monday, 2/22, playing with his stuffed animals!

I think he's telling them about his upcoming surgery...he was talking to them in a VERY serious tone...

Practicing his rolling and VERY proud of himself!

Yeah for Connor!

This is Connor on 2/23 in the pre-op room at the surgery center in Knoxville. He was so happy and we played with him for about an hour and a half before the nurses took him back for his surgery! The nurses were great and really loved him!

So happy with his dolphin, Dexter!

He was ready to get it over with! With Dexter by his side, what could possibly go wrong!?

This is Connor on Thursday, 2/25, at 28 weeks old! He LOVES this book and cries when you stop reading it to him - I read it 4 times to him this morning!

Have a fantastic weekend!
